Q&A

what is the best way to clean please?
Thanks for getting in touch — great question, and looking after your laminate properly will keep it looking its best for years to come. The key thing to remember with laminate is: minimal water. Here's the routine we recommend: 1. Vacuum or dry mop regularly — use a soft brush or hard floor setting on your vacuum, or a dry microfibre mop. This lifts grit and dust, which is the main cause of fine scratching over time. 2. Damp mop when needed — use a well-wrung microfibre flat mop with warm water, or a dedicated laminate cleaner (Bona or HG laminate cleaners are both excellent). A spray mop works brilliantly as it controls how much liquid goes down. The floor should dry within a minute or two — if you can see standing water, you're using too much. 3. For scuffs or marks — apply a little laminate cleaner to a soft cloth (rather than directly onto the floor) and rub gently. A few things to avoid: - Steam mops — please never use one on laminate. The heat and moisture can damage the joints and this isn't covered under warranty. - Wet or string mops — excess water can seep into the joints and cause swelling at the edges. - Polishes, waxes or shine products — laminate doesn't absorb these, so they just leave a dull film. - Harsh chemicals like bleach or strong vinegar solutions. Wipe up any spills as soon as they happen, and felt pads under furniture legs are a great finishing touch. If you have any other questions at all, we're always happy to help.
