- Hi, can I use the scandi oak herringbone in my bathroom? I may be being blonde as I can’t tell whether it has attached underlay or not? Thanks for your help
- Hi, Not blonde at all — it’s a very fair question 😊 The Scandi Oak 12mm Herringbone Laminate does not have an attached underlay. It requires a separate underlay to be installed underneath. In terms of using it in a bathroom — I wouldn’t recommend laminate in a bathroom environment. While it has moisture resistance for everyday spills and damp mopping, laminate flooring isn’t designed for areas with consistent humidity, steam, or standing water. Bathrooms can expose the joints and core to more moisture than laminate is built to handle long term. For bathrooms, I would strongly recommend either: • SPC Click Vinyl (Rigid Core) – fully waterproof and much better suited to bathrooms 👉 https://floorstreet.co.uk/collections/waterproof-stone-plastic-composite-spc or • Glue-Down LVT – also waterproof and extremely stable when fully bonded 👉 https://floorstreet.co.uk/collections/lvt-glue-down Both options are far more suitable for high-moisture areas and will give you long-term peace of mind. If you’re looking for a similar light oak / Scandi tone in a waterproof option, I recommend looking at Buri oak. Hope that helps 😊
