Q&A

How do I care for my floor? What products should I use?
Here are our care and maintenance recommendations for your floor: Day-to-Day Cleaning Sweep or vacuum regularly using the brush/hard floor setting on your vacuum — avoid the beater bar as this can scratch the lacquered surface Wipe up any spills immediately — although the lacquered finish provides good resistance, standing water should never be left on an engineered wood floor For a light clean, use a barely damp mop — the key word is barely. Wring it out thoroughly so it is almost dry before it touches the floor Products to Use Use a pH-neutral hardwood floor cleaner specifically designed for lacquered engineered wood — brands like Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner work very well Avoid any multi-surface sprays, steam mops, or products containing bleach, ammonia, or wax — these will damage the lacquered finish over time Products to Avoid Steam mops — excess moisture and heat will damage engineered wood Wax or oil-based products — your floor has a lacquered finish, not an oiled one, so wax will cause build-up and dull the surface Abrasive cleaners or scouring pads Protecting Your Floor Use felt pads under all furniture legs to prevent scratching Place doormats at entrances to reduce the amount of grit and dirt tracked onto the floor — grit is the most common cause of surface scratching If you have pets, keep their nails trimmed regularly Your floor has a 4mm wear layer which means it can be sanded and refinished if needed in the future — a real advantage of engineered wood Underfloor Heating Your Sienna Oak is UFH compatible. Keep room temperature and humidity consistent — avoid rapid temperature changes. We recommend maintaining humidity between 45–65% and not exceeding 27°C surface temperature
